Original French Poster Advertising "OMO Enrichi" Detergrent by Savignac 1963

More Views

A charming poster realized by Savignac in 1963 to advertise the famous brand for detergents "OMO". The adorable dog is taking a walk with its freshly clean sweater and balancing a box of OMO on his head. Surf is the name of a brand of laundry detergent made by Unilever and sold in India, Ireland, South Africa and many other countries. In the United States the Surf product line is owned by Sun Products. The brand Omo was used when it was introduced in Australia and New Zealand but in Australia and South Africa, Surf as well as Omo are sold and they are both top- selling laundry detergents in Australia .[citation needed] Surf was introduced in 1959 after Rinso, formerly Lever's best selling detergent brand, had declined in both sales and market share .[citation needed] Formulations of the detergent and the market segment targeted vary by region; in some countries Unilever also markets Persil detergent (but in others Persil is a Henkel brand). (Wiki) Raymond Savignac, often just abbreviated to "Savignac", was a French graphic artist famous for his commercial posters. He was born on November 6, 1907 in Paris, and died on October 31, 2002 in Trouville-sur-Mer (Calvados), aged 94. His work is distinguished by a humorous simplicity. This poster appears on page 435 in "Savignac Posters" Book published by Forney.
