A poster commissioned by the Larousse at Christmas time and promoting their production. Éditions Larousse is a French publishing house specialising in reference works such as dictionaries. It was founded by Pierre Larousse and its best-known work is the Petit Larousse. This poster featuring the “three wise men” was realized by Jean Carlu (1900-1997) ca. 1960. Carlu, one of France’s foremost poster designers, started his career as a professional poster-designer in 1919.
