The battle pitted Frankish and Burgundian forces under Charles Martel, against an army of the Umayyad Caliphate led by Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi. The character on the poster is Charles Martel, and the caption is as follows: “He won at Poitiers in 732. In turn you can win the lottery at next Wednesday’s drawing!”
